CureCervicalCancer is a global health nonprofit working to prevent cervical cancer in medically underserved communities by expanding access to screening, early detection, treatment, education, and locally sustainable care.
Its approach combines direct services with training, technology, and partnerships to strengthen local healthcare systems.
What It Does
CureCervicalCancer identifies high-need communities, provides screening and treatment equipment, establishes mobile and facility-based prevention clinics, and trains local healthcare professionals and community health workers to sustain care delivery.
Its Mobile Health for Mamas program in rural Kenya brings HPV education and self-sampling to women's homes. A solar-powered mobile laboratory analyzes the samples. Women who test positive are connected with mobile examination and treatment, patient navigation, referrals, and counseling.
Why It Matters
Cervical cancer is highly preventable when women can access timely HPV testing, screening, and treatment. Yet many women in low-resource communities have little or no access to these services.
CureCervicalCancer brings prevention closer to women while building local skills and systems to ensure sustained access to care.

CureCervicalCancer was founded by Dr. Patricia Gordon, a Harvard '78 classmate and retired radiation oncologist who has devoted her second career to cervical cancer prevention and to global health equity.
